See the Poudre Trail from a new perspective — take a ride with a Poudre Heritage Alliance Heritage Culturalist and learn about the history of the area from the perspective of the Poudre River along the Poudre River Trails. Riders should be comfortable on a bicycle. Children 12 and up may participate with an adult. Make sure your bike is in good working order; helmets are required. Pre-registration is required. The 2019 World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ will take place on Thursday, June 20. This will be the tenth year for the global event, and WLSL will continue with its goal of reaching more than 1 billion with the message Swimming Lesson Save Lives™. Local WLSL events will take place at hundreds of locations in more than 20 countries on five continents over the course of 24 hours.
A parent / guardian release is required. Children ages 6 and under must be within an arms reach of an adult.
Swimming is a life-saving skill for children and a vital tool to prevent drowning, the second leading cause of unintended, injury-related death for US children ages 1 to 14.

Bring arts and culture to your entire family with our monthly museum open house events! On the third Thursday of every month, the Art & Heritage Center will transform into a community art center where everyone can participate in a variety of collaborative art projects, from giant paint-by-numbers to painted quilts. The Town of Windsor and the Tree Board will host the annual Sick Tree Day. Groups of horticulture experts will make the rounds in Windsor to look at sick or dying trees and offer advice and suggestions. The experts are knowledgeable about all aspects of forestry and horticulture, including diseases and pests that are common in the area. This is a once-a-year event that is FREE for the citizens of Windsor. Residents may schedule an appointment by calling the Community Recreation Center at 970-674-3500. Most of the country celebrates Bike to Work Day in May, but due to Colorado’s unpredictable weather, the state legislature declared June as Colorado Bike Month, with the fourth Wednesday of the month dubbed Bike to Work Day. So leave the car at home and enjoy a bike ride to work on Wednesday, June 26. A breakfast station will be provided at Spokes Bike Shop, 427 Main Street, for anyone riding their bike to work. The station will be open from 6 - 8 a.m. Fresh fruit, granola bars, and other snacks will be available to fuel your ride to work. Make sure you tag yourself on social media with #BikeWindsor.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 27, from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m., and join Mayor Kristie Melendez for the Community Cares event at Boardwalk Park. Community Cares is a new event that aims to shed light on mental health, overall well-being and the availability of local resources.
Open to all ages, this FREE community event boasts games and activities, displays and information, a ropes course, and face painting.
"We don't want to wait until someone to slip through the cracks. We want to help folks make the connection to resources and feel welcome in their community," says Melendez. "If you care about Windsor and your neighbors, you'll be there."
