Due to recent severe weather alerts, the Town of Windsor Police Department wants to remind residents to sign up for emergency notification systems. LETA911 and CodeRED are two of the alert systems available for residents living and/or working in Larimer and Weld County Colorado. Emergency notification systems provide vital information regarding Amber Alerts, severe weather updates, and other public safety activity that would require residents to evacuate or take shelter.

LETA stands for Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority. The emergency notifications cover Larimer County, the entire Town of Windsor, and within the Windsor Severance Fire Rescue district. By signing up for LETA911 alerts, residents are able to receive emergency notifications through their mobile phone. LETA911 alerts are also compatible with landlines and email addresses.

CodeRED emergency notifications cover Weld County. By signing up for CodeRED alerts, Town of Windsor residents residing and/or working in Weld County will be informed of severe weather, emergency situations, and other critical community alerts. When signing up, residents have the option to receive notifications through phone calls, emails, and text messages.

In some instances, it is recommended to sign up for both LETA911 and CodeRED. For example, if you live in one county and work in the other, it would be beneficial to sign up for both services in order to stay fully informed.
