Town of Windsor Mayor Kristie Melendez and The Windsor Town Board extend a special invitation to honor those community members who provided assistance to Windsor during the 2008 tornado. The May 14 commemorative event begins at 6:00 p.m. at Windsor Town Hall, 301 Walnut Street, Windsor, CO. The evening will provide a time to reflect on the 10 years since the tornado and thank the countless volunteers and citizens that came to Windsor’s call and aid.
There will be light appetizers and photos on display, followed by a presentation from Mayor Melendez to honor those who helped our community through this horrific natural disaster. Please join us for this special evening of reflection and gratitude.
The Town of Windsor is also hosting a Public Safety Fair and Awareness Day on May 22 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Boardwalk Park, 100 N 5th Street, Windsor, CO. The theme for the event is, “Remember the Past by Preparing for the Future.” This is an interactive outdoor family fair to allow kids to climb on, explore, and learn about the vehicles that help keep us safe every day. Get up close to the trucks, boats, and cars that are used to keep our town safe and clean. This is a special event to learn about safety on the anniversary of the 2008 Windsor tornado.
