The Town of Windsor community is invited to participate in Windsor’s second annual Kindness Week February 11-17.
Each day of Kindness Week, community members are challenged to participate in daily activities focused on fostering community support and kindness.
“The Kindness Week initiative was launched in January 2017 after our community was faced with great loss and challenges,” said Kim Schutt, Windsor Kindness Week co-founder. “The movement, which was enthusiastically embraced by both individuals and businesses, provided an opportunity for acts of service and to start the New Year on a positive note.
“We hope to build on the enthusiasm of last year by continuing the initiative in 2018, creating a tradition that adds to the quality of life in our Windsor community.”
The daily challenges include:
Participants can share their daily challenge stories via social media by using the hashtag #WindsorKindness, by uploading photos/video into the Facebook event page, or by tagging/mentioning the Town of Windsor in their post. Select stories will be featured on the town’s social media pages throughout the week.
“Windsor is such a close-knit and caring community,” said Lori Couch, Windsor Kindness Week co-founder. “We look forward to hearing all of the stories from folks who participate in the daily challenges.”
Windsor Kindness Week is organized by a grassroots citizen committee and supported by the Weld RE-4 School District, Weld RE-4 Education Foundation, Windsor Chamber of Commerce, Windsor Severance Fire Rescue, Clearview Library District, Windsor Rotary Club, the Downtown Development Authority, and the Town of Windsor.
