Fotsch Named 2016 Windsor Employee of the Year

Recreation Manager Tara Fotsch was named the Town of Windsor’s employee of the year and received the PRIDE of Windsor award.

The PRIDE of Windsor awardee is chosen annually from a pool of peer nominations for best exemplifying the town’s core values: Producing results, Responsibility, Integrity, Dedication and Exceptional service (PRIDE).

Fotsch was nominated for her exceptional leadership, including her stewardship of the Community Recreation Center expansion project.

“Tara sets the bar high,” said Recreation Supervisor and nominator Luke Bolinger. “To be responsible for bringing the $16-million expansion project to completion is a task few could handle, but Tara did so without breaking a sweat.”

“While in the middle of the $16-million dollar expansion project and her everyday duties of overseeing all of our recreation programs, Tara also willingly took over as interim manager of our special events,” added Parks, Recreation & Culture Director Eric Lucas. “On top of all of that, she was our lead liaison for the Harvest Festival. She worked more than 45 additional hours during the festival to ensure it went smoothly!”

“She is just as fast to jump in and help unload chairs or grab a mop as she is to make a decision that will affect thousands of citizens,” continued Bolinger. “Her integrity and dedication are unmatched.”

Fotsch has been with the Town of Windsor since 2001, beginning as a recreation coordinator and moving up the ranks to her current position. Since her start date, Fotsch has received 10 other employee recognition awards, including employee of the quarter in 2002 and employee of the month in 2014.
