Windsor Police Investigate Serious Injury Traffic Accident, Suspected DUI

WINDSOR, Colo. — On July 24, 2023, at approximately 7:35 p.m., the Windsor Police Department responded to a traffic accident in the 1900 block of Blossom Grove Ct.

Upon arrival, first responders found a 2018 Polaris RZR all-terrain vehicle flipped onto its side after attempting to turn around in the cul-de-sac. A 35-year-old male passenger sustained serious injuries, including a severed arm, and was transported to the hospital. A 14-month-old passenger also received minor injuries. 

The driver of the vehicle, Antonio Arellano-Hernandez, 28-years-old, from Northglenn, Colorado, was arrested and charged with Vehicular Assault, 18-3-205 CRS, a class 4 Felony, DUI per se, 42-2-1301(2)(a) CRS, a class 1 Misdemeanor, and Reckless Driving, 42-4-1401(1) CRS, a class 2 Misdemeanor. As with all charges, the suspect is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty.

Windsor Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information about the traffic accident who has not yet spoken to investigators is asked to contact Officer Joseph Dalrymple at 970-674-6400.
