The Town of Windsor is a recipient of the 2023 American Public Works Association (APWA) Excellence in Snow and Ice Control Award that was accepted at the North American Snow Conference in Omaha, Nebraska Monday, April 17. The APWA Colorado Chapter presented the award to Town Board on Monday, May 8.
The APWA presents the Excellence in Snow and Ice Control Award annually to promote excellence in the management and administration of public works snow and ice operations while also minimizing environmental impacts. Windsor was only one of four recipients to receive this honor. Other recipients include Atlanta, Georgia; Kansas City, Missouri; and Orangetown, New York.
The Town of Windsor is made up of over 260 center-lane miles of street that are maintained. The Snow & Ice Team consists of 49 personnel across several Public Services service areas which prepare and train for snow season year-round.
