This May, the Town of Windsor is challenging residents and business owners to use water more efficiently by completing the water efficiency month checklist to be entered into a raffle for the chance to win a 26 oz. stainless steel reusable water bottle. Taking small steps like signing up for a water audit, opting for waterwise plants and washing vehicles at a commercial car wash are all ways residents can log progress.
A checklist can be picked up at Town Hall, 301 Walnut St., the Community Recreation Center, 250 N. 11th St., or at the Public Services Facility, 922 N. 15th St. during regular business hours or printed out at home by visiting windsorgov.com/efficiency. Residents can send a picture of the completed checklist to [email protected] along with their name, phone number and email address to enter the raffle, or turn it into Town Hall for an additional participation prize.
Additionally, residents are encouraged to pick up a checklist and a free home water efficiency kit during Pints with Paul on Wednesday, May 10, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at William Oliver’s Publick House located at 514 Main St. #C.
Water efficiency is a necessary practice to manage water resources and it saves money over time. The Town of Windsor strives to be a good environmental steward and has put forth efforts to maximize efficiency such as performing free water audits to all Windsor residents, installing low-water appliances at town facilities and educating the public on how to conserve water and save money.
Residents must be a Windsor Water Utility customer to qualify. Cards must be submitted by Thursday, June 1 to be eligible for prizes. One checklist per household. Follow along on social media all month for water efficiency tips, tricks and activities. Find the Town of Windsor on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Nextdoor by searching @Windsorgov.
