Windsor Seeks Candidates to Fill Fourteen Board and Commission Vacancies

Windsor’s volunteer boards and commissions have long-served an important role in local government as members help guide staff regarding various taxpayer projects and initiatives. Each advisory board and commission serves a specific purpose but they all rely on the active participation of members to provide input into Town of Windsor happenings. For instance, Windsor’s Water and Sewer Board learns about, researches and votes on water and sewer issues impacting the town. Members of the Planning Commission review applications submitted for development review which helps town staff with land use planning. Currently, Windsor has fourteen board and commission vacancies and the town is seeking civic-minded citizens to fill those roles. 

Windsor’s Board of Adjustments has four positions available. There are two regular positions available with one term expiring in September 2026 and one expiring September 2023 at which time the incumbent can be reappointed to a four-year term. There are also two alternate positions available with the terms expiring in September 2026.

Historic Preservation Commission has three positions available. There is one regular position available with the term expiring in March 2024. There are also two regular positions available with the terms expiring in 2026.

Planning Commission has three positions available. There are two regular positions available with terms expiring in March 2027 and there is one alternate position with the term expiring in 2026.

Water and Sewer Board has two regular positions available with terms expiring in March 2028.

Windsor Housing Authority has one regular position available with the term expiring in March 2028.

Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Board has one regular position available with the term expiring in September 2023.

Applications will be accepted through 5 p.m. Friday, February 24, or until filled.
