Windsor, CO- The Town of Windsor History Museum is scheduled to host a community BioBlitz event to help residents understand Windsor’s biodiversity and identify species. The BioBlitz kick-off will take place at Treasure Island Demonstration Garden, 31592 Laku Lake Rd, on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., however participants have the full 24 hours to identify species on their own. The observation area covers the section of the Poudre River Trail from Frank State Wildlife Area to the Treasure Island Demonstration Garden at Eastman Park.
To help identify species, participants are advised to download the iNaturalist app via the app store. iNaturalist is available for both iPhones and Androids. If you do not have access to a device, field sheets will be provided at the BioBlitz kick-off. This is a great opportunity to meet local experts, find and identify species, and become more familiar with the biodiversity in Windsor.
