Delayed Start Dates for New Software, Increased Rates for Public Works Fill Station

Public Works Water Fill Station at Windsor's Public Services Campus

The water fill station located at Windsor’s Public Services Campus, 922 N. 15th St., is operating with increased rates and will begin utilizing a new service system on March 30.

Starting March 2, 2020, fill station rates increased from $3.50 to $7.40 per 1,000 gallons. Rate increases were initially scheduled to start the day prior. This rate increase allows the town to continue offering this service to the community and offsets the cost of updating technology at the water fill station. The majority of customers using the fill station are construction companies, landscapers and other local enterprises.

Additionally, a new software program is being implemented at the fill station that will allow the town to closely monitor water usage and create an easier and faster payment method for customers. The new software was originally going into place on March 12, but due to delays, it will not be utilized until March 30. All customers will be required to set up an account prior to use. Once an account is set up, customers can log on and make a pre-payment to their account. They will then receive a pin number to enter at the fill station in order to access water.

All customers looking to use the fill station should contact Public Works Administrative Assistant Kim Johnson at kjohnson@windsorgov.com, by calling 970-674-5400 or visiting the Public Services Campus during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
