Windsor, Colorado’s largest annual event—the Windsor Harvest Festival—celebrates its 98th anniversary this year. From Aug. 31 through Sept. 2, visitors from across the state will join town residents for the weekend celebration packed with fun events including a hot air balloon launch, live music, a garden show, and various arts, crafts, food vendors and more.
The final day of the event kicks off with Northern Colorado’s largest parade. Amid this year’s celebration, will be the reminder of last year’s tragic parade accident. This accident caused Town officials, festival organizers and the Windsor Police Department to take a closer look at participation rules. As it has in the past, parade line-up begins on Monday, Sept. 2 at 7 a.m. with the parade starting at 9 a.m. This year, however, the parade has amended guidelines that are available at Windsorharvestfest.com.
Among the changes, the Town will be seeking volunteer parade marshals to help monitor the route and ensure compliance to the rules. Volunteers can sign up at windsorgov.com/1204/Windsor-Harvest-Festival.
