Culture Division

Part of Windsor's Parks, Recreation & Culture Department, the Culture Division operates The Town of Windsor Museums. The Art & Heritage Center, located at 116 5th St., is a hub for the arts and history and hosts a variety of exhibitions throughout the year. During the summer months and for various events, nearby Boardwalk Park Museum, located at 100 5th St., comprises six historic buildings which promote and preserve the town's rich history.

Coming to the Summer Concert at Boardwalk Park? Be sure to stop by the Art & Heritage Center for some family fun! Make a free craft to take home and explore the Build! Frontiers interactive exhibition before heading to the concert. This event is FREE for all ages!

First Fridays at the Art & Heritage Center
First Friday of Each Month, September-May
6-8 p.m.

Join us at the Art & Heritage Center for this FREE family-friendly event. Each evening will feature live music, a fun community craft, and complimentary beer from High Hops Brewery.

Gusto DaveSeptember 6 - Fall for Art
Celebrate the start of fall in September by listening to live music from a local musician and creating a miniature felt pennant to decorate your house or wave on your favorite sports team. Enjoy free beer, apple cider, and fall-themed snacks!

Our special guest musician in September will be "Gusto" Dave. With a variety of instruments, including harmonica, classical, 12 string, and acoustic guitar, Gusto Dave renders anecdotes and a nostalgic variety of many musical styles ranging from Blues, Folk, Rock, and Jazz. Don't be surprised to hear a dead on impression of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Robert Plant, or Tom Petty.


October 4 - Brews and Boos
Halloween is just around the corner! Design a Halloween mask, take a photo at a special photo opportunity, listen to live music, and enjoy free beer and spooktacular snacks.

November 1 - Dia de los Muertos Celebration
Did you know Dia de los Muertos is actually three days long? November 1 is the second day of the Dia de los Muertos holiday! Celebrate and commemorate this traditional Mexican holiday with live music, art activities, and more.

December 6 - Rocking Around the Christmas Tree
It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Art & Heritage Center! Create a Christmas ornament, dance to traditional Christmas music, and enjoy free beer, hot cocoa, and cookies. Receive an extra special prize if you are rocking an ugly Christmas sweater!

Volunteer Programs



The Town of Windsor Culture Division encourages volunteers to participate in many programs and services. With an active exhibition schedule, numerous special events and educational programs, and large scale museum collections projects, volunteer support is essential for success. The Culture Division offers training opportunities and enrichment activities to make the time you spend here meaningful.
