The Water Department successfully completed replacing all of the Town of Windsor water meters in 2010. The town's 5,000 plus water meters can now be read electronically in one day.

Requests for location water and sewer lines have averaged 2,533 calls per year since 2002. This is an average of over 49 calls per week or over 10 locates per day. These calls will continue to increase as Windsor's service area expands.

Mandatory water shut-offs due to non-payment by citizens requires six employees to disconnect and reconnect services in all areas of the town. This usually takes at least a full day and sometimes carries over to the ext business day until all accounts have been reconnected. An average of more than 400 accounts are disconnected for non-payment each year.

Water Districts

There are three separate water providers serving the Town of Windsor. Each one has a master meter and long-term contracts with the Town to provide treated water. The two Weld County water providers are North Weld County Water District and the City of Greeley. The Larimer County water provider is Fort Collins-Loveland Water District.
