The Town of Windsor’s Tree Board in conjunction with the Forestry Division of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department will host Sick Tree Day from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27.
On Sick Tree Day, groups of horticulture experts will examine sick or dying trees around Windsor and offer advice and suggestions for tree health. Experts will offer their knowledge on all aspects of forestry and horticulture, including diseases and pests that are common in the area.
“As part of the Tree Board’s goal to promote trees and tree health in our town, we visit 50 homes on Sick Tree Day,” said Bill Monroe, Tree Board member. “At each visit, we’ll complete a form listing a diagnosis and recommendations, which we will leave with the homeowner.”
Residents may schedule a free appointment by calling the Community Recreation Center at 970-674-3500. Space is limited.
The Tree Board will give a summary report of Sick Tree Day at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at the Clearview Library.
Specific questions about trees or landscaping can be directed to Windsor Town Forester Ken Kawamura at 970-674-2440.
